FAQ'S

What is AirSculpt®?

AirSculpt® is patented, precision-engineered technology only available at Elite Body Sculpture. It removes unwanted fat through a freckle-sized hole cell by cell with no needle, no scalpel, and no stitches all while you’re awake. This revolutionary technology also tightens your skin while it removes your fat, providing dramatic, smooth, and natural results.

How long has AirSculpt® technology been around?

AirSculpt® technology was patented in 2012.

What is the 48 Hour Six-Pack? Is it only for men?

The 48 Hour Six-Pack™ is designed to enhance and reveal your abs in just one session. As long as the patient is fit and has developed abdominal muscles, we can remove the fat and expose that six-pack look you’ve always wanted. Most patients see a defined set of abs after just two days. The 48 Hour Six-Pack™ is not only for men, and women considering this procedure should call their nearest Elite office for a consultation.

What is the Power BBL™?

Our Power BBL™ uses AirSculpt® technology to harvest unwanted fat from areas you no longer want it like the thighs or the tummy. Our patented technology ensures high-quality fat is collected and then transferred to your buttocks. As Elite's updated version of the Brazilian Butt Lift, this process places the fat precisely where you want it, safer than any implant or injection.

What is the Up A Cup™?

Our Up A Cup™ breast augmentation uses AirSculpt® technology to harvest unwanted fat from areas where you no longer want it like the thighs or the stomach. Our patented technology ensures high-quality fat is collected and then transferred to your breasts. As a result, your breasts can go permanently up a bra size.

Is AirSculpt® invasive?

AirSculpt® procedures are minimally invasive compared to traditional fat removal and body sculpting methods thanks to our advanced technology. Our patients are fully awake, and we avoid scalpels or overly abrasive tools to maximize safety and be gentler on the body. Unlike noninvasive methods that require multiple sessions over several months, our AirSculpt® procedure permanently removes the fat cells from your body right away, so it’s a “one and done” treatment.

Are the procedures painful?

AirSculpt® procedures are not painful. During the procedure, you’ll feel some vibration but not pain. We provide painkillers and numbing beforehand and give the patients the additional option of laughing gas if they feel like they need it. Since AirSculpt® is minimally invasive and takes extra steps to be gentle on the body, recovery is far less painful than traditional options. You’ll just feel sore for a couple of weeks.

What are the risks of AirSculpt®?

AirSculpt® risks are minimized but still include bruising, swelling, and the possibility of infection, as is common with any cosmetic procedure. We provide our patients with antibiotics before their treatment and for the following two weeks. The overall risk of more severe side effects is also significantly minimized by avoiding general anesthesia.

How long are AirSculpt® procedures?

AirSculpt® procedures last anywhere between 45 minutes and four hours. We take as much time as needed while taking each individual’s circumstances into account. The length of your AirSculpt® will usually depend on the area treated and the volume of fat removed.

Do you have to be put to sleep?

AirSculpt® patients are not put to sleep. In fact, you’ll remain awake the whole time. Because we avoid the use of general anesthesia, our patients are never unconscious and can even listen to music or watch movies during their procedure.

On which areas of your body can you have AirSculpt® done?

AirSculpt® can be performed on your chin area, abdomen, love handles, bra roll (back roll), inner and outer thighs, arms, and banana rolls (underneath each buttock). Our Up A Cup™ and Power BBL™ transfer fat from your tummy or thighs to your buttocks or breasts, respectively. We like to say, “if you can pinch it, we can take it,” as you can AirSculpt® pretty much any area between your neck and ankles.

How many AirSculpt® treatments are needed per area?

Only one treatment is required in most cases because the fat is permanently removed during your AirSculpt® session. Patients can also combine different AirSculpt® procedures during their treatment, which can help reduce costs while getting more done in just one session.

How many areas can be done at a time?

AirSculpt® patients can usually treat two to three different areas at a time during their procedure. The answer depends on the amount of fat removed and which areas are treated. If interested in treating multiple body parts at once, you will discuss this in more detail during your consultation.

Is AirSculpt® effective?

AirSculpt® is more effective than traditional lipo and other alternatives because results are tailored to the person’s body shape, the targeted volume of fat removed, and the desired outcome, all while minimizing invasiveness.

Can AirSculpt® help cellulite?

AirSculpt® is not a cellulite treatment. It does, however, have skin tightening effects that can lessen its appearance.

Is this laser lipo? If not, what’s the difference?

Laser lipo is a newer type of liposuction, and while we similarly use a laser to aid in softening fat and tightening skin, our laser is patented with AirSculpt® technology. This allows us to physically pluck away fat cells like grapes off a grapevine with our specialized cannula, leaving surrounding areas completely unaffected.

How is AirSculpt® different from traditional liposuction?

AirSculpt® is gentler, easier to recover from, and far less risky than traditional liposuction. AirSculpt® is comparable to plucking grapes off of a vine while traditional lipo can be compared to scraping with a cheese grater. Traditional lipo often requires general anesthesia, but AirSculpt® is always performed while you’re awake. Far less downtime is involved in AirSculpt® recovery, only 1-2 days compared to the 4-6 weeks of downtime after traditional lipo. Since more manual work is required with conventional lipo, damage to your lymphatic system—which is responsible for skin smoothness—is very likely to occur. This excessive damage is avoided with our gentle technology, minimizing all the risks that come with liposuction. AirSculpt® is safer, with more reliably smooth results.

How Much Weight Will I Lose With AirSculpt®?

AirSculpt® can dramatically transform patients' bodies but will not really help them lose weight. We can take any fat you can pinch, but while fat is dense, it isn’t heavy. That’s why AirSculpt® is not a weight-loss procedure but instead is designed primarily for body contouring. With AirSculpt®, you’ll lose inches and reduce in size. Since fat is like marshmallows, meaning it takes up a lot of mass but doesn’t weigh very much, you won’t necessarily lose a lot of weight. Many patients use AirSculpt® as a successful kick-starter or motivation to lose weight, but it is strictly for sculpting your figure into your dream body.

How much fat can be taken out?

AirSculpt® can successfully remove a majority of the fat from a patient's trouble area or areas. This amount does vary depending on individual characteristics, however.

How many dress/pant sizes will I go down?

Just how many dress or pant sizes you will drop varies. We take the unwanted fat you can pinch, so going down a few inches after an AirSculpt® session is par for the course. It depends on your goal shape and the area you are getting treated, but a drop in inches is the most significant change you'll see.

Will the fat come back after AirSculpt®?

Fat removed during an AirSculpt® session is permanently removed and will not come back to that body part. If you do happen to gain weight after your procedure, the fat can appear everywhere else except the area from which you removed it. We, therefore, recommend a healthy diet and exercise following your AirSculpt® treatment.

Should I lose weight before the procedure?

It may not be necessary to lose weight since we are physically removing fat cells during AirSculpt® treatments. You will, however, be given further direction by your doctor’s recommendation during your consultation.

If I gain weight, does the fat go to other areas of my body after the procedure?

If you gain weight, you are more likely to gain mass in areas of the body that have not been treated with AirSculpt®.

Will this procedure loosen my skin?

You will get some skin tightening effects from AirSculpt®. If you have existing loose skin, however, you may still have loose skin after the procedure. We offer the Tiny Tuck™ procedure to help with that concern in the abdominal area. Ask your doctor whether you’re a candidate or not during your consultation.

Will this procedure tighten my skin?

AirSculpt® tightens the skin to a certain extent. While this procedure is not a skin lift,  the AirSculpt® laser promotes collagen production that firms and tightens the skin.

Do you need to have a specific BMI?

There is no specific BMI requirement for AirSculpt®.

Do you have to be over 18?

AirSculpt® does have an age requirement, as patients must be 18 or over. In some cases, though, with adult consent, a minor could be considered as an AirSculpt® candidate depending on the consulting doctor’s opinion.

Do you have to be under a certain weight to receive AirSculpt®?

AirSculpt® does not have a weight limit and does not have any restrictions on size. As long as you have fat to remove, you can generally receive AirSculpt®.

Do you have to wear a specific garment after the procedure?

Yes, you do have to wear a compression garment for two to three weeks after you receive AirSculpt®. This garment is like thick spandex. Some patients will wear it for a more extended period as they find it comfortable.

How long do I have to take off work following AirSculpt®?

Most AirSculpt® patients return to work one to three days following their procedure.

Can I work out after the procedure?

No, you should not work out right after your AirSculpt® procedure. We ask that you wait about two weeks before returning to strenuous gym workouts. You should, however, start walking at least 45 minutes a day after AirSculpt®.

Do I need blood work done or a medical clearance?

Typically you will not need blood work or medical clearance to receive AirSculpt®. However, the doctor will provide a final decision at the time of the consultation.

Should I have this procedure done before or after pregnancy?

Getting AirSculpt® either before or after having a child is acceptable. It is up to the preference of the patient, but for those who recently had a child, we recommend waiting three to six months before receiving AirSculpt®.

How long do I have to wait to receive AirSculpt® after giving birth?

After having a child, you should wait between three and six months before receiving AirSculpt®. Mothers who had a C-section should wait six months, and those who had a natural delivery should wait at least three months.
